New to Vodafone, 100Mb contract over FTTP . Came from BT.
Stable speed with BT from day 1 at 95% of contract speed.
Been with Vodafone for a week. Speed at between 40Mbps and 60Mbps. Chat help line insists this is due to DLM during first 10 days after connection.
Questions are:
Is DLM used/required for FTTP installations?
Have Vodafone got something wrong here?
Cheers
Ron

It's quite possible that no one at VF customer services even knows their products.
I'm on the same superfast 100 plan, my router thought I'm on a 'Pro' plan. When fault finding Level 2 insisted I plug the router into the master socket. To top it off they route me via Edinburgh.
My conclusion is customer support is only there to calm us down and smooth over the cracks - they can't actually do anything but collect and collate information.

I just wonder how much money Vodafone could save if it had decent/passable/some semblance of customer support!

.@Ronthechippy VF are telling you 10 days so that your cooling-off period expires and you then cannot leave VF without a huge penalty.

There is no DLM on FTTP. Are you measuring the speed over Wi-Fi?

Thanks for all the replies.
That's what I thought, no DLM on FTTP.
Vodafone recommend "Speedtest", with 1 pc only plugged into the router using ethernet cable. This is how I'm measuring the speed.
Errr....what are Vodafone up to?
How do I get this fixed?
Thanks

Were you also on FTTP with BT? Was it the same contracted speed? Is this over Openreach or CityFiber? Are the speeds you quote for up/down?

Many thanks,
FTTP with BT (since about 4 years ago).
It was an 80Mbps contract and the ethernet speed was always the same at 76Mbps throughout the whole time with contract period with BT.
Openreach do all the cabling, installation here and supply all the kit (ONT etc)
All the speeds I've quoted are down. The Vodafone contracted up speed is 18 and this is what I'm getting.
Being FTTP The "line" is clearly capable of delivering speeds far greater than we are getting. It does look like Vodafone is messing about!
Any ideas on what is going on?
Cheers

That is just laughable what customer services have said to you, they don't have a clue. 😂
If you had the opportunity, I would try going with an altnet as you would get much higher speeds for a cheaper price than on the Openreach network. Openreach's FTTP is a GPON network which is the most basic form of an FTTP network.
Altnets use the latest standard of XGS-PON which allows people to have upto a 10gb/s connection.
I have a supplier in my area who have built their own network that can supply 10gb/s to a residential property if needed. 😁 As soon as it's available where I am, I will be jumping ship. 😉

I do find it strange that Vodafone only guarantees their FTTP services at half the contracted speed. It's almost as if they know something.
It does sound like Vodafone have messed something up. you can only keep badgering them about it.
If you are getting nowhere with standard support, try raising an official complaint.
