DSL login changed after 'upgrade'?

Hi

I 'upgraded' my line, or rather renewed my broadband contract the other day and go live was on the 21st. On the 22nd I received a confirmation text that it had gone live. My account has recently been beset with issues and it had taken >11h of calls etc. to get my broadband contract renewed (VF had deleted my old bills and apparently there were about 12 old accounts, and the CS rep said they'd never seen anything like it, and i took multiple goes to get the order to proceed) so I had been looking forward to some stability.
I was slightly concerned that the VF confirmation email referred to "new broadband service" but everything seemed to be OK on the 22nd so thought all was good.

However this morning (23rd) I had no broadband. Thinkbroadband's Broadband Quality Monitor for my line showed 100% packet loss from just after 3am.

The DSL light on my Huawei HG612 was steady and showed no error but Pfsense log said "LCP: authorization failed ". The My Vodafone app said it couldn't run diagnostics unless I was using the original VF THG3000 router. I dug that out and switched that in and the DSL light was flashing red. The app then said there was a fault. So I tried another spare router, configued it with the DSL login and it also said invalid authentication.

The log indicates the PPPoE line seems active so has the 'upgrade' nixed my DSL login?

All you have to do is contact vodafone and ask for your new PPPoE login and password. A renewal or upgrade counts as a new service.

Tx - that was it! Why there was zero advance notification of the DSL auth change is questionable.

VF support have somehow reconfigured my VF THG3000 router but they say it takes up to an hour for the change to work. This sounds rather odd to me, having upgraded firmware and updated configs on hundreds of different network devices. Indeed I'm 35mins in to the hour and the DSL light is still flashing red ...

If you are referring to the THG3000, try rebooting it, or better still, try a factory reset.

Yes, already on the second reset now.
