Getting a stable connection with Netgear D7000v2 and Ex7500

I have finally switched to Vodafone free router after a frustrating year with my expensive Netgear setup.  In the middle of Zoom or Skype I was getting connection issues.  I have tried all channels reset regularly but have now given up.. All would work great for 24 hours at a time but would drop out in the middle of the night.

I realise Vodafone cannot support products not supplied by them but I did expect a stable connection. I am now using their modem connected to the D7000 as a router.

It is early days and time will tell.

I think Vodafone poll connected modems and change setups which only their modems can follow.

They can certainly change the configuration of their modems, such as when they removed the ability to select WiFi channels without a firmware update. That should not affect 3rd party routers though

I have gone back to my Netgear D7000v2.  It may not be the most stable router or the prettiest but it has very good configuration software.  Using the VF box download speed went from an average of 30 MB to less than 20.MB.

I have however changed the wifi channels on my router to those used by VF 6 and 100 and used the same SSD. Before I split everything and used Ch9 2.4 and 112 5g to avoid neighboring interference.  At least it is keeping me busy in lockdown.
