Help with ASUS RT-AX 86S not connecting to ultrahub

Hi...I'm freaking out here.

I am trying to link my Asus router in Access Mode to the Ultrahub. I also have a phone line so they both need to be connected.

I have tried the ethernet from ONT to the Asus - nothing happens and Have connected both together - ONT to Ultrahub LAN and Ultrahub WAN to ASUS LAN and again nothing. It's impossible to get to the ASUS GUI as It won't connect to the internet.

I actullay had this set up recently without any issues (had to do nothing) and have also reset the Asus to factory settings via reset button and did the set up as described in the manual (which i didn't even read before...Please help is you can - TIA :Winking_smiley:

So my VF router ip is 192.168.1.1 and the Asus is 192.168.50.1 so does that mean I don't have to do anything else or do i still follow your guidance for DHCP and wifi? If I do have to change the settings how do i tell the Ultrahub to stop serving DHCP? Sorry about this and my repetition but i find this forum structure quite difficult to get my head around ;/

Nothing else to do except turning off the Vodafone WiFi if you don't need it.

The phone and everything connected should work just as they did before.

From CYNRIC earlier..."Ah you're double NATing. OK, then let the Asus do DHCP for 192.168.50.x and make sure it's gateway is 192.168.1.1. In the THG turn of WiFi but DHCP will not be a problem because nothing will be asking, so make its range 192.168.0.3 to 0.10 AND make the Asus router address 192.168.1.2 so the THG sees it upstream."

What should I do?

I saw it too - but it's not essential. If you have any problems later we'll deal with them then. Just enjoy your broadband.

I wouldn't worry about that. From your opening post I figured you'd just want it as you had with your previous provider.

Do some reading on the snbforums - if you see something you want to do follow the guides there.

snb forums - had a look - saw Merlin and left  that stuff is well beyond my paygrade lol.

Regards my set up yeah pretty much, just hoping to get more out my asus router to help my latency issues with Warzone...I've had alsorts of issues despite VF saying my line is great. I have the QOS on the Asus so going to try that? Forgot to ask, with my Asus WAN Connection Type...do I change it to static rather than Automatic and should i switch on Enable WAN Aggregation ?

Leave it on automatic for now. We may revisit that setting if you have issues later, but just keep it simple for testing.

Let us know how your gaming went 😉

Okydoke. Can't thank you people enough as this stuff is real confusing for me especially when it involves the numbers but you helped me great..Have a great evening and I'll keep you updated :Winking_smiley:

PS: should the Asus be on Wireless router mode  or  Access Point(AP) mode ?

Many thanks again :Smiling:

From what you say, it should be Access Point mode, and if it is, none of he previous posts are really relevant

Previously had it set up in router mode.
