Hello,

I'm suffering from really high pings and it's making online gaming difficult. I'm new to this service and voda so if anyone could advise what is happening that would be appreciated please.

Here's my trace route to bbc and it looks like I am connected to my local DC (Leeds) but the pings to it are really high.

over a maximum of 30 hops:

I think I'll be cancelling tomorrow and either trying another provider on City Fibre or seeing if Virgin want to make me an offer to stay with them.
Having looked into it, as was said in this thread, a lot of people having the same experience as us - weeks and weeks of it being great and then this. Support are of no use. Even in the bad days of Virgin Media, you could always escalate things and speak to a really expert but it seems Voda aren't bothered.

I know, right? My guess is they think most people won't notice, so who cares? I'm so mad because I'm in a contract, but I'm so tempted to pay out of it because it's shockingly bad service. My only hope is that as it's an issue that doesn't affect just me they'll have to do something about it.

Well.... I just tried the automated support thing from inside my account and it said it found a fault and has logged a ticket. There's no options for poor latency so I chose not getting the full speed and after it did a test it said "oh, yes, you're not getting full speed".

That's more than I got. They just say I'm not using their router so I can go eff myself. Won't consider the possibility that the problem could exist their end, nope, it's always a Problem Exists Between Chair and Keyboard as far as they're concerned. I've opted to move provider and as you're still in your cooling off period I suggest you do the same.

Who you gonna go with? Zen? No One?

Going with the 4th utility. They are the only one in my area that offer symmetrical gigabit, and actual gigabit, not 900 or 910.

I've only heard good things about Zen - slightly more expensive but not much.

Anyway, I've fixed your broadband. Thank me later.

Ah, so you've instructed your horde of normies to stop posting half-decade old memes and minions GIFs on Facebook. Appreciate it!

Until about, let's say, 5pm-ish tomorrow?

I'll mark it on my calendar.
