Hello,

I'm suffering from really high pings and it's making online gaming difficult. I'm new to this service and voda so if anyone could advise what is happening that would be appreciated please.

Here's my trace route to bbc and it looks like I am connected to my local DC (Leeds) but the pings to it are really high.

over a maximum of 30 hops:

I think I'll be cancelling tomorrow and either trying another provider on City Fibre or seeing if Virgin want to make me an offer to stay with them.
Having looked into it, as was said in this thread, a lot of people having the same experience as us - weeks and weeks of it being great and then this. Support are of no use. Even in the bad days of Virgin Media, you could always escalate things and speak to a really expert but it seems Voda aren't bothered.

Getting the exact same thing here, along with huge drop off in download speed. Uploads remain fine throughout. Also in Leeds.

To be fair vodafone rang me today and are sending an engineer out tomorrow. Did explain that before 7pm ish  (when they will be here) everything is fine and then after this my download speed grinds to a halt and latency goes through the roof. The Thinkbroadband monitor clearly shows a problem during peak time.

@superleeds

That's good, they might look upstream after you explain the situation!

You can see it start to go crazy from around 7pm.

leeds based here, same issues, 8PM hits and the crap is unusable, zero gaming on a 160 ping... no idea what they have done or changed, its been working flawless for me for 9 months

It's impossible to get the people we deal with on support to understand the issue.

Update from my end: Vodafone just called me to say the City Fibre engineer due out to me today actually worked remotely and "fixed the issue at the central exchange". I need to now see what happens during 7pm-11pm.
