I have had a Gigafast broadband activated for around 3 weeks.
I use my my connection mainly for gaming and connected through Ethernet cable to ps4.
When the broadband was first installed everything was perfect latency wise, ping wise and overall perfomance, the only problem was that i wasnt getting the full download speeds.
When i raised the issue with Vodafone, they fixed this issue within a couple of days, however this is when my nightmare started. Although I was now getting my full speeds 100/100, the actual performance became unbereable, so much so that I no longer do any gaming, (call of duty). Also, prior to me raising the issue, I used to perform tests on the download and upload ping, both were very stable, 13ms ping on idle, and a stable 15/16 ms ping underload. Now however when performing the test the ping is on 15ms idle but a ridiculous amount of ping spikes when underload, anywhere between 15 and 100ms per second, both for upload and download.
Anyway I am guessing that Interleaving has been switched on because of the issues I was having before, and for some reason it hasnt been switched off.
What i would like to know is how to check if i have interleaving switched on, on dsl status it doesnt show anyting but i am guessing this is because i am on a gigafast connection?

So this how the current connection is, as you can see its appaling, 20% packet loss is just unacceptable not to mention the ping spikes.
Also please I am not looking for a Vodafone Mod to tell how to get in contact with VF on the phone or twitter, i have been doing this for the past couple of weeks so i am aware of how to do it.
The technical team has opened up a couple tickets for me but then in the end they say they can see nothing wrong with the connection as i am getting full speeds, and will not accept any diagnosis under than a simple speedtest.net.
i have to say this is the worst connection i have had since having broadband.

I am not sure of exactly how the data is transmitted over the fibre, but there would be no need for technologies such as interleaving as nothing should be able to interfere with the signal.
It sounds like you have the same problem as lots of people on Gigafast report. I think the consensus is that there is a bottleneck somewhere between the CityFibre network and Vodafone.

Thank you for the reply, hmm if that’s the case I’m guessing it will be difficult to try to get anything resolved.
What would you suggest?

I obviously can't suggest what you should do, but personally I would try to leave without penalty.
This would probably require going through the complaint procedure and then entering the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

It's always possible that by the time you get to that point they may have fixed the problem. It's suggested that CityFibre are aware of the problem and are trying to resolve it, but unfortunately Vodafone just do not keep their users updated.

Okay thank you, I’m going to see how it goes for the next few days and if nothing changes I may well have to take that action

Do things improve if you test during the non busy hours, such as early morning?

No they remain the same 24/7

Then that is a bit different to the usual Gigafast problems as they mostly occur during the busy times.
As they are occurring over Ethernet then WiFi problems are ruled out.
I think you will need to keep on at Vodafone as it would seem something is not right.
Hope they can find something.
