We both work from home using VPNs to connect to our offices. over the last few weeks we have started to see our connection drop 2 or 3 times a day always around the same sorts of times (around 1:15, 12:15, 1:15) - tried checking lots of things and resetting connections, updating drivers, checking firmware levels.. but no help. I checked the router log today and noticed this:

17.11.2020 12:13:16 System information PPPoE PADI sent

Anyone got any ideas what is going on and why?

thanks 🙂

Hi @blengy, when you're losing connection to the internet, how long is the downtime and do you need to restart the router to get back up and running? Can you also let us know if you're connecting by WiFi or using a wired connection to the router 🙂

Hi @MarkD,

I have been onto support since asking this question and run through all the usual tests.. yesterday an engineer visited, confirmed that he could see connection dropouts on the line and found that a connection box on a telegraph pole down the street had had a temporary fix (a missing lid had been replaced with a bag). The engineer cleaned out the box and fitted a new lid. He assured me that it should fix the problem, but if not the next step would be to replace the router. So far today there has been no drop outs - but it still early in the day...

Amazing to hear an engineer's been out to see you and you've not had any drop outs so far. If you need a hand with anything else, you know where to find us, have a great week!
