- My internet went down a few days ago. So far we have had an engineer out to test our line which was fine. We then replaced the router still down. The line is up but data ppp connection is disconnected. From what I have read this means the router handshake is not taking place so I'm not getting allocated an ip address. This is not a new connection been working fine for years. Vodaphone are sending out another openreach engineer on Wednesday. I think i need higher level support from vodafone not openreach an i right?

I've has the same thing for 8 days now, same appalling service from Vodafone.
Sent Openreach, they said it was Voda, sent new router - still no dice!
I'm edging towards thinking its an ONT fault?
What was yours in the end?

If Openreach have been out, it's unlikely to be an ONT fault as they would have tested that.
Also, as you have an ONT, you are on FTTP, and @Bazzawood30 was on FTTC, so the circumstances are different.
However the problem is probably at Vodafone's end in both cases.
