Poor broadband speed

Hello! I pay for superfast 2 I think it's supposed to have minimum speed of 55mb/s. I tried checking the speed with the Vodafone Broadband app - but it won't connect to my router - it says router model not supported - only works with wifi hub or vodafone home broadband hub (do I have to buy this separately?) the router that came with the service has a voda symbol of the front and a red light at the bottom s/n 80927H1005571. I checked the speed with broadbandspeedchecker and got readings of 14mb/s d/l and 10 mb/s upload. I tried the vodafone diagnostics app on vodafone.com (like I was buying the service new) but it says 'sorry we can't estimate your broadband speed' . This is my backup/second bb connection - just in case the primary goes down - so I haven't used it much in the 8? months - more probably - since I started paying £25/m. Thanks very much for help everyone. All the best, Keith

Is your main broadband Virgin?

What model is your Vodafone router? The latest router, if it has a red light means it is not connected.

hello! thank you for the reply - other BB is TalkTalk - different telephone line etc - however - update! after 'chat' with Vinod at Vodafone - seems the router does not enable split ss id by default - so - connected to router via ethernet - speedtest is 75mb/s d/l and 30m/bs upload - but wifi terrible - so have just logged in to the router and split the ssid - one now 5ghz - also switched off WPA for WPA2 as getting 'security old' messages from devices... just going to try these settings - thank you again - I think problem will be solved! cheers, Keith
