I just Like to give all you guys out there a bit good advice regarding Powerline Adapters. After a few years struggling with powerline speed I can confirm I am no longer using cat6 cable I am using cat7 STP. You can use cat6a. I am also using STP cable RJ11. The speed on my PLC utility app says I am up 400 mbps to over 700 mbps.

I'm confused. Powerline adapters use the mains wiring. Only the drop cables would be twisted pair, and I can't believe Cat 6 twisted pair could not handle much more than powerline adapters can. On short drop cable lengths Cat 5e can handle Gigabit speeds.
And what are you using RJ11 for, that would be the DSL cable and presumably you are on FTTP?

That’s because the EMI interface coming from VDSL from street and power electrical system is reduced if you use shielded cable like cat6a or cat7. My telephone Master Socket is next to a power socket I have tried to get Vodafone to move it but I am stuck with it. Because in 2002 I had installed new power sockets and one double plug went next to the phone but at that time we didn’t have VDSL I was still on dial up. If you ask any electrician he would say you shouldn’t put data cables next to Live electrical cables because power cables Generate a small magnetic field.

Cat5e and Cat6 are twisted pair they have a Plastic core. But there not foil shielded

Most of the EMI issues related to VDSL(2) are related to the entry into the property and the potential for cables running parallel within the walls. As such CAT6 cables are almost always going to be good enough.
*Historically having used Asus AiMesh over powerline, up until replacing the single client that used to struggle to get a good signal to the router.

Yes I know that but you can get electrical noise from VDSL2 that’s why you get the sound too noise ratio and attenuation. That’s why more customers who have VDSL more Customers the more Crosstalk aka electromagnetic interference EMI. That’s why VDSL is rubbish but FTTP on the other hand you get no electrical noise or EMI and sound to noise ratio. For example DLM Dynamic line management and sound to noise ratio attenuation and other types of EMI.

What has that got to do with using Cat7/Cat6.5 at home.

Lol cat6A and Cat7 is shielded look it up. That’s the reason ISPs Give out free rubbish routers because know one has a clue.

Having used PowerLine at home for more than 5 years I can say that I have never had interference between any cables or equipment. I have data cables (Cat5 and some 6) running next to 240Vac cables running behind desks and cupboards without any problems at all. Interestingly we run Cat5 to the desk from the managed switches at work and also do not have any issues.

LOL LMFAO You can’t hear electrical noise
