Raspberry Pi connection do Vodafone GigaPoint 801Gv2

Hallo everyone.

I wish to purchase and connect Raspberry Pi 4B to Fibre modem Vodafone GigaPoint 801Gv2 via LAN cable - will it work right away?

I mean I know I will have to create HotSpot in Raspberry Pi which is easy done.

I wish to get rid off that Vodafone Hub because terrible USB B file share (which works but after couple minutes disk goes into sleep mode and needs to be reconnected).

Or if I purchase new router (for example Asus) will internet work right away when connected to Vodafone GigaPoint modem?

I love my Raspberry Pi 4B(s), but a router replacement they are not - there are other SBCs, router boards, and pre loved 1L PCs that are better for this purpose - provided you know what you are doing!  If you've no experience I'd get a replacement router - remembering that unless you succeed in following one of the guides on this site, then you'll lose the VOIP phone connection the VF router provides!

WIll things work straight away - you'll need to create a PPPoE connection using your username and password!
