Router login page doesn't display

Symplectic

I've occasionally logged in to my broadband router be using the ip address 192.168.1.1 in a web browser, most recently back in April. But when I try to do this today all that happens is that the browser redirects to 192.168.1.1/main.cgi?page=login.html and then -- nothing. I've tried various browsers, various computers, various operating systems, and I've also tried using a PC with an ethernet cable, but I still can't get past the blank screen.

Apart from that, the router appears to be working.

Suggestions regarding a possible reason for this, and even better a cure, would be welcomed.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I have now, and that fixed the problem. It seems obvious in hindsight, but because the router's web server seemed to be working (I could ping it, and from a browser it redirected me to the login page, even though that page didn't display) it didn't occur to me.

Thanks for the nudge.
