Stuck Profile?

I know profiles used to be a thing, but not sure if they are still relevant.  I'm on a FTTC connection.  Looking at the DSL stats in the router interface, the Maximum Rate shows 61726 kbps (or similar), however the Current Rate shows 54999 kbps.  For the last year or more, I've never seen the Current Rate go above this figure.

Is anything "stuck" on the connection that would allow me to get the full rate?

Other stats:

SNR - 7.6db, Interleave depth - 4

@MrWhite  It's common to not get the max speed as shown at the cabinet. How many yards are you from the cabinet?

If you haven't already done so, go to this URL https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL and enter your telephone number. Once this picture is moderated, look at the VDSL Range B (Impacted) and that's what your normal range will be. Lower down there's a Max Speed recorded too.

@Cynric thanks for the reply.  In my mind the Maximum Rate is what the line can handle (or is synonymous with the Max Speed in the BT Checker), it's not the maximum speed for the product, otherwise this would show 80Mbps for everyone on the FTTC product.

I can no longer use the BT checker as my phone line has been switched over, but from memory the Max Speed on that checker had previously shown 59Mbps

@MrWhite The Max speed recorded is the best the green box had seen to your house over the last 2 weeks. The number changes periodically. Not having the phone is not the end of the world as you can use the UPRN, which you can find yours here https://uprn.uk

My max is currently 66, which is a minor miracle as it's been 53 for ages. But my area is in the process of the switch to fibre so it may be related to that somehow.

Your SNR is a little higher than the default of approx 6.3, indicating that DLM may have increased the SNR (thereby lowering the speed) to keep the line stable.

I assume you are connected to the master socket. (with filter, if required)

As you say your phone has been switched over (I assume you mean to VoIP) it may be worth disconnecting any extensions (if you have them) from the master socket.

@Cynric & @Jayach  - thanks to both of you for the replies

I think to get the Max Speed on the checker I need the Access Line ID - using the UPRN (thanks for the link) gives the same results as the address checker and doesn't give that max speed reading.  The "high" reading for range A is 56.6 Mbps - I don't think this has changed for quite some time and before I was moved to VOIP, the max speed had been higher than this range.

Definitely in master socket, no extensions.  The socket was installed by Openreach.

Just seems a little odd the figure of 54999Kbps - seems like it's capped.

The second line B, impacted, is the one to go with.
