The worst Broadband!

So, I made the mistake of switching to Vodafone Broadband after being with BT. Now, I seriously regret that decision. It's been a month and the speeds have been ridiculously slow and i have had two outages - the current one stated at 6pm yesterday and VF tell me the issue won't be resolved until Tuesday morning at the earliest! I am going to cancel and go back to BT - their service may have been most costly but it was 100% reliable and their speeds were good.

I made the mistake of switching from BT to Vodafone last month. Since then, the broadband has failed twice, the first for a few hours and last night at 16.00 hrs. I have checked and Vodafone estimate the Broadband will be reinstated tomorrow!! Over 24 hours! Not fit for purpose in any way. BT was pricier but was 100% reliable. Complaint lodged and I am going to cancel Vodafone!

@timsussexmobile  Three times, too!

I am at my wits end with them! The worst broadband I have ever experienced!

@timsussexmobile  You must have been quite distracted replying to a 2017 post made by someone who only posted the once and has never been seen again.

Would I be right to say that you are now outside the cooling-off period as you said it has been a month? Meanwhile you could go to the Think Broadband site and get a BQM (quality logger) setup which will watch the router connection. This is a free service and produces some good evidence of what is happening. Also have a look in your router logs for any critical error. While you're at it can you do a trace route to a couple of well know addresses such as bbc.co.uk and google.com and we may be able to see if it a network routing issue within Vodafone, they have been connecting people in the south via Scotland, and the other way round too.

Are you on FTTC (copper wires to the house) or FTTP (fibre to the house)? Depending on which there may be some differences on where we can look.

They are, apparently, aware of an outage in my area.. Off at 16.00 hrs yesterday and they state it should be fixed by 08.10 hrs tomorrow!!! NOT fit for purpose!

@timsussexmobile  If there's a network problem that takes that long it could be a cable fault. Depending where the cable is routed they cannot just go ahead and dig holes at a moments notice. I think you have to give them a bit of slack. Sometimes these things happen.

Definitely no slack. The service has been terrible since it went live!

If there is a problem in your area, it is probably Openreach, and would have effected BT too. (unless you are now on CityFibre)
