Hi, looking for any help please.
Router Archer VR2800
I've recently joined Vodafone with their fibre service and alls working ok with the supplied router.
I've tried connecting my router, which I have used for the last 2 years.
I have my dsl info which I've asked for twice just to make it is correct but I cannot get my vr2800 to connect to the Internet at all. Tried hard reset too.
Does anyone know if im doing something wrong or is the vr2800 just not compatible with fibre to the home.
Thanks
Mark

Hi,
Hope you are sorted with the vr2800. I can confirm that it works with vodafone fttp. It took a while as I was given the wrong dsl info via live chat. Second time it worked - as already suggested set to PPPoE with no VLAN Tag. Just your dsl info and password and you should be good to go. Any issues give me a shout. Looking to see if I can set up the super wifi hub with the tp-link. Don't think there is much luck at the moment.

Yes thank you. Sorted it a couple of days ago, meant to post a reply but working nights at the moment.
Completely by accident I found out about the no vlan Id needed. Just tried it without as it was irritating the crap out of me and viola it worked.
With my initial confusion about using the vr2800 as just wireless router with the fttp box as the modem, it took me far longer than it should have.
All working now and far better than the box voadfone sent.

Did you have either the IPv4 or IPv6 enabled ? (See my settings picture above)

I've tried numerous times and it just is not working for my VR2800, have the router configured as a Wireless Router, and have entered just my details as you have said and still nothing... I have the Openreach Fibre modem with all the correct lights on with the ethernet going into LAN4/WAN port, and my settings are as below...

I’m having trouble with these settings and wondered if anyone can cast any ideas my way…
ISP set to “Other”
VLAN ID set to Disabled
Username - Checked 3 times with Vodafone and all is OK
Password - Checked 3 times with Vodafone and all is OK
IPv4 Enabled
IPv6 Disabled
Router connected directly to ONT (Openreach)
Do not want to use the Vodafone UltraHub
Does anyone have any other ideas please?
Yours desperately

Looks O.K to me, however Vodafone are notorious for giving the wrong PPPoE details, even multiple times. Did you get them to copy and paste them to the live chat, just to be sure.
What were the other options for ISP?
What router are you trying to use?

Thanks for your response….
Other ISPs include BT, TalkTalk, Virgin Media, Plusnet etc etc…
I have contacted VF multiple times to ensure that the credentials are correct and on 3 separate times they’ve given me the same information which I have copied and pasted to the username and password fields.
I’m at a total loss. Using a TP-Link Archer AC2800 otherwise called VR2800. I know some of you guys have managed to get it to work but I’ve been at this all night.
Wondered if there was an advance setting I missed MTU or something IDK
Hellllllllllllp….

Also, wanting to eliminate the Vodafone Ultra Hub all together by using my VR2800 as a modem and a router…Unsure whether you guys have been using both or just the VR2800 for everything and excluding the Vodafone Superhub completely.

@mikey911 If you have an ONT there's no place for a modem.

I asked about the ISP option, as I would only expect that on a DSL (i.e. with built in modem) router.
So it appears you are trying to use a DSL modem/router, there is no problem with that, as you can bypass the modem, and just use it as a router, however as you are getting the ISP option, I don't think you have done that.
Don't know if this will help:
