I am using the vodafone router HUB, with a cable connecting to the wall phone socket. I am looking to buy another longer cable for a better fitting location of the router.

I understand the cable is an RJ11-RJ11 6P2C (only using the centre 2 pins). When I look on internet I can see most are selling RJ11-RJ11 6P4C cables. Hope to confirm if those can be used for the connection to the router.

Many thanks.

If your connection is FTTC (VDSL2) then yes, the 6P4C RJ 11 would be fine.

The cable to buy should be identified as a DSL cable, it will then be the correct twisted pair cable.

RJ-11 is a standard. Anything outside this standard is not RJ-11. CAT5E cable can be crimped to RJ11 connectors and still comply with the standard - albeit with a spare pair.
