Advice on ethernet connecting Power Hub to Google Nest Pro Wifi

TL;DR

I have moved into a new house and can't figure out why the previous owners set up no longer works. Worst case is a cable failure, but im wondering if I'm just doing something stupid with the vodaphone router?!
---

So i recently moved into a house with an office in the garden and I want to be able to work from there, so I need internet connectivity.

In the house currently I have a fibre connection with Vodaphone, with the "Power Hub Router". This connection works fine, but does not reach the garden room. I am writing this message on this wifi connection.

Inside my house is a ethernet cable which is by the router in my house and leads out of the house, under the floor of the garden and ends with a female ethernet port inside the office. (I was told the previous owners used this for their own mesh network). So my goal is to create a mesh network from the "Power Hub" by connecting this cable into the LAN connection.

I recently bought the Google Nest Wifi Pro (3 pack) as the previous owner also used a Google Mesh. My current connection is:

Fiber -> Power Hub (WAN)

Power Hub (LAN) -> Google Nest Pro Router (WAN)

If I do this, I can connect to WiFi using the Google Nest Router instead.

Next I tried plugging in a second Nest upstairs and this also "meshed" and I have a strong connection upstairs.

Finally, I plug the internal (male) ethernet into the LAN of the Google Nest Pro Router

Google Nest Pro Router (LAN) -> male ethernet leading to garden...

female ethernet in garden -> Google Nest Pro Router (WAN)

But there's no detection of an ethernet connection and I cannot establish a mesh.

I also tried removing all of this, and doing:

Fiber -> Power Hub (WAN)

Power Hub (LAN) -> male ethernet to garden

female ethernet in garden -> Google Nest Pro Router (WAN)

As the primary Google router, but this infinite loops on a request for me to plug it into the router.

As far as I know from the previous owner, everything is in working condition, but if no one has other ideas I guess I need to get an ethernet tester for the underground cable, but I'm really hoping this isn't the issue as that seems like a massive job.

Fingers crossed I'm just being stupid and there's a setting I need to change to make this work?
