Can anyone confirm what the process is when you upgrade FTTP packages e.g. 500 to 900 on CityFibre
I’m curious to know what sets the speed profile and where it’s set? Does it need an engineer visit to change something on the ONT? Or is it carried out at the exchange? CityFibre side or VF side equipment or both?
(I’ve started the upgrade process and want to better understand the technical side in case of problems 🙂)

I just recently doubled my speed to save 50p or so a month. I'm sure they just price things to keep us as customers 🙄

It depends on your call handlers mine were just "computer says no"!

Always try calling back a few times.
When I re-contracted, it was the 3rd call before I got someone who was able to offer an extra inducement to stay. (in my case it was inclusive anytime calls)

A PON (XGP-PON) should by its nature be a pretty easy fit. I was disappointed when OR fitted our ONT that we got the old 1Gbps Nokia and not the newer 2.5Gbps. Obviously for those of us with ONTs it's a little more convoluted due to the need to register the serial number!
