Blocking scam calls on landline

I am trying to block scam calls on my landline. I was told must pay £2.50/monthly for call management. Cannot see how to block these calls supposedly from Bank, Amazon, and BT. So How do I block a number?

It's not possible to block scam calls as they tend to use a different number each time they call. When I was on Sky they have a call screening service called Talk Shield and it was brilliant, never had one scam call. Now on Vodafone and I get them all the time. Oh well, only 15 months to the end of my contract.

Thanks for that, and I am paying £2,50 monthly to supposedly do this. Will try with the BT scam calls. They always have 1111 at end of number so will try a few****** to see what happens. If nothing does, then will cancel.

As I mentioned, you can buy a telephone with BT Call Guardian built in. This works similar to the Call blocking services.

Unknown numbers and people not on your star list will have to say their name before being connected. A scam or telesales caller will normally ring off or a computer dialling blocks of numbers will not be able to leave a name and will eventually be cut off without bothering you.

Vodafone do not offer a call blocking service but you could buy a telephone with built in BT Call Gaurdian and this works similar to BT Call protect and Sky talk shield.
