I have Full fibre (FTTP) and my land line is via VOIP and I use DEC house phones.
Call waiting is active on my land line I have tried de-activating it by using (#4 3#) but it dosn't work.
The problem is when on a call, the call waiting tone sounds and the calling number is displayed but I don't know how to interrupt my call and briefly talk to the "new" caller, who does not get engaged tone but gets ringing out tone and is disconnected after a short time.
I have been on Chat help with VF ( two sessions of 65 min) and a chat on 08080 034515. But do not have a resolution. I was even told that I don't have call waiting.
So the code to "answer" the incoming callwaiting and/or the procedure to cancel (permanently) call waiting would be a great help.

Interesting, call waiting (along with almost all other management features) is not supposed to be available on the VoIP service.
The Wiki page for call waiting suggest that the recall button should switch back and forth between the calls.
On my DECT phones it is a key marked with R and doubles up as the ECO button, so if you have one give that a go next time you have a call waiting. It also suggest there may be other options.
Presumably that means press the recall button and then the option number.
Give that a try and let us know if it works.
I wonder if all the VoIP lines are the same, and nobody knows?

Call waiting is a standard feature on VoIP lines. I have no idea if Vodafone have enabled it though! It requires configuration within the hardware GUI and a correctly configured dial plan syntax to use short codes such as (#43#). To activate/deactivate the service.
If configured correctly, press the recall button to toggle between the calls.

This is an update.:- I contacted 08080 034515 who confirmed they were technical support. Together with the technician It was demonstrated and confirmed that Call waiting is active on my Voip line ( with FTTP) and if a call is received when my line is being used the caller does not get busy tone and the call drops. The technician has raised a fault ticket to a higher technical level for resolution. At least it is being looked at.

Well, finally received a response to my problem. " It is new technology and this bit dosn't work yet."
and there is no outlook as to when it will be resolved.
There is no facility to add or remove function( voice mail , call waiting etc) on installations with FTTP and VOIP.
I was also advised that all other providers of FTTP and VOIP installations have the same problem.
So I am now getting quotes for a land line insulation using copper wires.

Try a third party voip provider. They do offer calling features, often at no extra cost. Plus you can have it on your mobile.

Well, that's an untruth from Vodafone.

Good luck with that, now that your area has FTTP.
You might get it if your area hasn't gone stop sell, but it probably has.

Well here is the current situation.( Tuesday 27th 11:20). Nothing has changed
I have have had several sessions( 6 or7 over the week ) with the second level team ( 0808 0057 329).
The router has been reset after a change made at Vodafone's end with no change to the problem.
I have been asked to change the handset, which I did today ,again with no change to the problem. Which has been demonstrated and accepted as exist by several of the second level team.
I have raised a complaint with Vodafone Customer Relations .
The information from the latest 2nd level person is that as this function should not exists they have no way of disabling it. It has been escalated to a group called VTS.( again)

Well here is the definitive answer by Vodafone to my problem. It is that I have call waiting installed( not wanted) The problem is that ( as stated in a previous post)if there is a call my landline I will receive the call waiting tones and the number is displayed on my Panasonic phone but the caller receives no "busy" tone and the call drops after 10 "rings" . This problem as been verified and that it is not to do with my DECT phones( verified with another instrument), several times, by level two support at Vodafone over a period of around 30days.
I raised a formal complaint with Vodafone and after further investigation by a different group in Vodafone I received the following e-mail " I would like to inform you that we currently do not have the solution for the issue you are facing with call waiting feature on your Vodafone landline. We regret the inconvenience caused.
The FTTP has been supplied/installed by Cityfiber who unfortunately do not have another subscriber to their network which supports FTTP and VoIP (with number porting of an existing number) .
I have few choices Virgin who have their own cabling and kit or BT who will only supply FTTP from overhead lines. If this , as stated earlier by Vodafone, use the same generation of Kit as Vodafone may have the same problem .I know Virgin is OK as My son
So ends my saga of working with Vodafone. I will now negotiate the cancelling of my contract, hopefully with no financial penalty and a smooth transfer to another supplier.
