Has anyone managed to configure a Groundstream 801 to work with CityFibre? I have the SIP codes, but needless to say I am either missing something or VF codes are wrong.

Hi,

I have purchased the same device as you in the last week as the VF router is not meeting my requirement for the network i'm running through my house.

I cannot for the life in me get the Groundstream to work.

I've attached the settings I have so you can look at and we can figure out where we are going wrong.

Support from VF would be appreciated too as I have searched online that other people with other ISPs are getting this to work. Cant see why we should have an issue.

Thanks

Kam

Sooooo called VF and guess what. They were clueless and could not help...

Hi @Kamsung I'm sure we'll be able to help setting up your service. If you pop us a private message

via Facebook at Vodafone UK, or on Twitter using the handle @VodafoneUK, one of our team will be happy to take a look 👀

Did you ever get this working ?

I'm using the VF hub as a gateway for my Asus router and it works perfectly including the phone but the VF hub is so big and ugly.

No i didn't. To be honest I wanted to keep my land line as they couldn't port my number across. I kept my land line with previous provider.

I did try though. But VF tech side didn't know how to assist.

@GY If you are using the VF hub as a gateway for an Asus router, then you are going to be double NAT-ing, and getting SIP-ALG/VOIP to work over such a connection is almost impossible to achieve RELIABLY! If you can get your username and password, and the VLAN ID, you should be able to do away with the Vodafone hub entirely!  Your User name and password going into the WAN connection page on the Asus router, and you can use the IPTV page on the router to create the VLAN connecting back to the other box on the wall!

DMZ on the VF hub is pointed at the Asus router so there is no double NAT.

I have my user name and password I was just curious about the phone setup.

I did get a private message from one of the guys technicians on here saying he would assist. However I returned my ground stream by then. You can do what I did. Purchase it from amazon so you have a simple option of returning it if you can't get it working. Try get through to the 3rd line support and see if they can help as they wouldn't talk to me. I work on SIP phones in a call centre for IT. Still struggled.

Can you post how you set up the VF hub as a gateway for the ASUS router and got the landline to work
