How to have my landline number ex-directory

Hi there,

 

despite having already registered with TPS I am receiving a large amount of nuisance calls, often from international numbers. I wonder whether it would help to remove my landline number from the directory.

How can I do that? The info I find online is for BT customers only...

I had this issue a few years ago, and unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. 

Part of the problem is that the calls are coming from an International source, meaning the company involved is not bound by the TPS. The other issue is that your number is now "out in the wild", in that it's on a Marketing List which has been sold on to several companies.

The best solution I eventually came up with was to buy a Nuisance Call Blocker Phone.  (something like this : BT Essential Phone - One Handset (090657) | BT Shop  - other brands etc are available )

Haven't had a single Nuisance or unsolicited call since!!
