New customer number transfer

I joined Vodafone on 9th Feb 2022 and requested my landline number be transferred. I have done this 4 times and have had 2 messages from Cust Servs saying it has transferred. All they have done is given me different new numbers not my original. I can only contact the Indian call centre staff by phone or chat. I cannot find a UK number to talk to someone. They are very polite but to be honest Vodafone is worse than Plusnet, EE, Talk talk etc. all of whom I have dealt with in the past.

I am 78, disabled and depend on my landline for contact and have lots to change if I have to. Is this normal for Vodafone are they just bad at communicating or totally useless. Someone please help I have tried everything including talking to BT, Openreach and Now tv, previous provider, all who tell me it's a straightforward transfer, like for like, just getting my number out of a pool and moving it. I can't understand why it's a problem.

Unfortunately, if the number port didn't work when you first joined, it seems pretty much impossible to get it back afterward.

And yes, Vodafone are terrible at getting thing right, and even worse if you try to get a straight answer out of them.

VF staff are more likely to censor Jayach's accurate portrayal than to supply any useful comment.
