I just had FTTP installed here. No adapter in the box with the router, but I used the ADSL filter and that seemed to work as one using the internet cable RJ11 from Tel1 on the router to "internet" on the filter.

I'm just wondering now, at work we have a bunch of Cisco and Polycom phones sitting in a cupboard. Would one of those work with the router?

@billgnoe Your best bet is to plug a DECT base station into the router. Have a search in the Forum for the other two brands you mentioned.

Gosh, that is creative, I've never thought of using a DSL filter as a simple converter from RJ11 to BT socket. Presumably you are using it at the phone end, rather than the router end. To make it neater, you could just snip the BT "tail" off.

As for using the work phones, I doubt that would work as they are probably digital, and the TEL sockets on the router are analogue.

I did the same thing with an adsl filter as the muppets at VF didn't send a proper adapter.

It's curious that we can't use an IP phone on a digital service. Seems they really really don't want us using landlines at all.

You can, but not via the TEL sockets, and not via the Vodafone telephone service.

There are a couple of Cisco phones that are confirmed working with Vodafone's digital voice service, but the configuration is a PITA. You'll also need to use a third party router.
