Voda landline suddenly becomes "Invalid number" / "not available" to Sky mobile AND landline callers

I moved b/band and landline from Sky to Voda in June 22. Surprisingly everything went smoothly and have had no problems with either service until recently.

At some point in December (I think - as we don't get many calls on landline) my number became "invalid" to Sky mobile caller (which I and my wife are) or "unavailable" or similar to Sky landline callers (which my elderly parents and Aunt are). My dad actually alerted me just before Christmas that he couldn't get through to the landline.

Since then I've had several unsuccessful chats, calls etc with assorted people at Voda trying to sort it. I've also spoken to Sky who say that there's nothing they have done or can do to make this happen. I am able to make outgoing calls and can receive calls from other mobile and landline providers!!

Is it possible that some "upgrade" in November/December could have caused this ?

Thanks for the response.

Have already been in contact with tech support people several times. They are currently "investigating". I've noticed that this is not particularly uncommon with various suppliers. I'll give them a couple of days to see what they find.

You're welcome @cjpresy64, I'm sure everything will be sorted after the investigation's complete. But if you need anymore help with this, or anything else you know where we are.

After numerous calls/chats/messages with Voda operators, being passed up to higher people etc etc I'm still no further forward with this problem.

To make matters worse, somebody has mysteriously changed my PIN so that when I call I have to go through "security" every time!

I was told last week (Thursday) that my "MYVodafone" account was being reset and that I should wait 48 hours and then register as if it was a new account.

Well guess what - NOT possible

We're unable to register you for My Vodafone

It looks like this number has already been registered. If you’ve forgotten your details you can reset them on the login page or with an adviser over Live Chat

 

This is now getting beyond ridiculous and I think a complaint will be in order

Your "my Vodafone" account should have nothing to do with your telephone problem. That just sounds like a fault that needs to be investigated.

Thanks. It just seems a strange coincidence !!

Both problems are currently being "investigated" by the appropriate departments again!!

I've been told twice that each problem is corrected but they are clearly not.

Hi @cjpresy64  can you please confirm the current status? I have the same issue i.e. I can receive calls to my landline from all callers bar Sky callers e.g. when calling me from Now BB, Sky Mobile, Sky landline. I switched from Now BB in Dec 22. I have just received a call today from 2nd line support saying 'sorry failed port of your landline number from Now BB - your only option is to accept a new landline number'. 6 weeks since raising this issue and this is their response. Absolutely furious!

As your number works from all services except Sky, I can't believed that is not resolvable.

Sounds like they are just trying to take the easy way out.

I would definitely try raising a complaint, and see if they can help.

Hi

The issue with not receiving calls from Sky numbers is now resolved and working fine.

I received a text from 2nd line support saying it was fixed.  and lo and behold it is.

Considering they had previously worked fine anyway, this may be a different problem to yours?

I haven't bothered to contact Vodafone to find out what they did....I can't stand the pain !!

The second issue concerning Myaccount log in is still awaiting an outcome.
