phone line has never worked how do I escalate this?

I have a new broadband installed but the associated phone line has never activated. I raised a fault ticket but am going round in never ending queues trying to escalate this. Any thoughts as to the best way before i cancels my contract?

After persevering with the digital assistant and having a "chat" with an operator simply asked if the fault ticket had been passed to openreach. It took some time but eventually the guy did read the fault ticket and stated I should hear something "soon". On pushing him got a 2/3 day timescale but low and behold the phone is now working this evening:- I did see an open reach van working nearby this afternoon so who knows!
