I have a Vodafone dongle with a 5G data only SIM. I bought it to use in Europe. It as no UK data balance on it. I want to buy the 8-day Europe Data Extra 3GB. I cannot find it shown as an option online (or on the app). The only way I can see to buy it is to send a txt EUDATA to 2345 for the Europe Data Extra. But I cannot send txts using the data only SIM? TOBi chat did not understand the question and I was not transferred to a human. What have I misunderstood?

Data only Sims are just for data as stated here https://www.vodafone.co.uk/data-only-sim

If you have an online account set up @Paris2025 there should be something under manage extras.
Before being able to roam Vodafone may ask you to add a data pack and activate the device first in the UK.

I only posted on the forum because the agents I contacted via TOBi did not seem to be familiar with data only SIMs.
It is not possible to purchase the data pack online/on the app. Not only is that data pack I want not shown as an option, but those that are available can only be purchased by sending a TXT. I have a data only SIM in a dongle and cannot TXT.
Having spent ages with TOBi chats with human agents, I have established that the only way for me to order the data pack is to contact an agent to load it the evening before I set off. That is entirely unsatisfactory, so when I return from Paris, I will switch to another supplier for my data only SIM that I need for my laptop dongle. My mobile phone is with another UK supplier - I chose the Vodafone as a backup service to maximise coverage. I was sold a Vodafone data only SIM dongle and find that in practice Vodafone are not interested in supporting it.

Hi @Paris2025 Thanks for your post. Based on the information provided (no UK data balance/txt EUDATA to 2345), I'm going to assume this is a Pay as you go Data SIM. Although, you're right, we can't text from the SIM but I would expect to see the Extra in your My Vodafone account. It may be that you need a UK pack in order add the Extra to it, it'd be best if we took a look at your account.
