Age-restricted content bar

After one month of mobile broadband service, someone at Vodafone activated the age-restricted control on my account. I didn't ask for this. I logged in and turned it off, receiving a confirmation email. It will not go away. I've cleared caches, restarted devices, left it 24 hours, done a little dance, filled in a complaints form and tried to get past the Customer Service robot. Finally, after 10 days someone at Vodafone came back to me and said there's nothing they can do and can they close the ticket.
I notice this is a common problem on the forums, and some people report that it finally gets fixed if you can only contact the right person. I don't have Facebook or Twitter and the Live Chat robot is obtuse beyond belief. I couldn't care less about porn, but it blocks all sorts of other sites, like political commentary and even archive.org which I use for my work. Please, for Gods' sake, somebody do something, fix the problem and post the details for everybody else who gets this.

Hi @Suicidal we are aware of an issue with some customers content bar in some cases reactivating which I apologise for, our tech guys are investigating this to find the root cause so this can be fixed. If you can contact us by clicking here through our social team and we will be able to look at this further for you.

Finally! To everyone with the problem of the age-restricted content bar being applied to their account when they didn't ask for it, and then finding that they can't get it lifted!

It can only be removed from the back end by Vodafone engineers. I got it lifted (allegedly permanently) by going through the "live chat", where an operative managed to get something done, but wouldn't specify what. After restarting, the ban was lifted.

I've had it happen again tonight.. it's the fourth time in a year.. still not long on the contract so I'll be off soon somewhere else ..

The fastest way I've found to get it sorted is to go to the auto robot chat thing that does not work by the way.. and keep putting random letters in eg. kuhgzbfdlsbdfi after a while it gives up and puts you through to a human.. then ask them to reset your account if they say they can't ask to be put through to their supervisor.. works wonders.. also the last three times it's happened they told me it would never happen again.. Vodafone you are a joke
