Broadband Dongle - Number showing as Unknown, so cannot register it to add credit

I've got a Vodafone broadband K5161h dongle which is showing as connected, however when i check the "My Device" information it shows all the relevant details - but for "My Number" it shows as "Unknown"

 

I've tried using the software to send a text to *#100# but that fails - so i've no way of finding out the number, as the person who originally had this dongle has left the company I work for and nobody knows the details.

 

Without the number, I can't register it and so can't add data to it.

 

Anyone any ideas?

It sounds like the original owner already has the device registered to an account or may have terminated the service @trsict , if this is what has happened the number won't show and you will be unable to register in your name.

 

Your only option here would be a replacement SIM from here: Data SIM or a replacement device to include a new SIM and allowance.
