Basingstoke 5G since the 3g turn off

Since last year I've had a fairly strong and stable 5G signal at home in RG24 8SQ.  Last week the 3G signal was turned off, and now both 4G and 5G signals indoors have become extremely bad.  My phone is mostly sat of WIFI calling now.  I thought the idea of turning off 3G was to improve the 4G and 5G coverage, has that been done now or just the turn off of the 3G signal moving everyone to 4G and 5G and decerasing the signal coverage?

1) Does the issue happen in just one location? If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service?

Happens at my home location

2) See Profile for postcode.

3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?

Yes

4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs?

Very weak 4G and 5G signal compared to pre 3G switch off.

5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all?

It is specific to 4G and 5G

6) When did you first notice this issue?

Immediately after the 3g Switchoff text

7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs?

Permanent, 5G no longer accessible in doors, 4G dropped 2 bars on the display of the ZFOLD 4

Hey @andyl73 I hope you're doing well! I can certainly appreciate how frustrating and concerning this must be.

If you pop your postcode into the Network Status Checker, you will get a popup that advises that due to the 3G network beginning to be shut down in the area, network experiences may vary temporarily while we continue to optimise our 2G, 4G and 5G services.

If you zoom out on the map you will also see that there is currently ongoing maintenance and an area of planned maintenance in the surrounding areas. This will be to improve the 4G and 5G capabilities in your postcode so once these are complete, you will notice an improvement in your service.
