Hey! I used Vodafone from 2011 to 2013, then switched from Orange before the EE merger. After a ten-year gap, I rejoined last year via Leabara (one of their MVNOs). My question is: did they fix the call-dropping issue I had last year on my old Samsung S23 Ultra? I've upgraded to the S24 Ultra and switched networks, but I'm thinking of moving to Voxi (Vodafone) after the Three merger. Is completed with three have you also noticed the issue on the nvnos as well or has that been fixed that end What is it like on at that network 20241218_234329.jpg

The full technical implications of the merger will take many years to completely realise, although there will likely be some short-term changes.

There are often differences between MVNO & host-network performance.

I was hoping some Vodafone or Vodafone MVNO customers could confirm if the call disconnection issue after 29 minutes has been resolved. I'd appreciate knowing if this is fixed on iPhones, Android devices, or other devices.

Hey @KaneMccarthy02, The 29 minute call drop issue, It’s a known issue with certain Android handsets and their chipsets. This may be resolved by a future software roll outs or by updating to the latest software, but this isn’t guaranteed.

The only current work around is to place the call on hold for a few seconds during the call and then this resets the timer. If this doesn't work, then I would advice raising a case with your current network and they will forward the issue to us if they cannot help get it fixed or a work around on their side.

Since that picture, I've upgraded my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and switched to giffgaff (O2) from Leabara (Vodafone). The network experienced significant call drops. This issue seemed isolated to that specific network and MVNOs from Vodafone. An upgrade to your network and your mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) would be beneficial. A SIM card update from Vodafone might resolve these call drops, and extending this update to all Vodafone SIM cards and MVNO SIM cards that use your network, regardless of the phone model, would be greatly appreciated.
