Apple Store Experience -> “The new Concierge” Service.

Hi Guys and Gals

Just wanted to share my recent experience at my local  store.

My sons iPad Air 2 had developed an issue where it wouldn't boot up. After trying out Recovery Mode and Dfu options I assumed it must be Hardware related.

Genius Bar Appointments didn't fall in line to days off work so we both visited our local  Store on the off chance.

They are now adopting a new service called “The new Concierge”  which I read about some time ago.

Now the frontline Specialist take your mobile number and text you the same day when a a Genius is free. We had a text within 45 minutes.

The Genius Employee hooked up to iTunes and concurred it was a Hardware Issue, and within minutes we left the store with a replacement iPad Air 2.

I assume that all the U.K Apple Stores are now offering this text and return service, so it could be a piece of advice that can be passed onto people needing Apple Store Assistance without the need to make a Genius Bar Appointment in all cases.

Interesting. I've never needed to use the Genius service but this sounds like ab excellent addition to Apple's famous customer services offerings.

If is new they must have been trialing it in some stores for a few months.

In early October my nephews iPhone started playing up as I was in Brighton the day after I called into the Apple Store to see if there were any cancellation as the day before they were showing fully booked.

I was asked if I would be in town for very long and I said for another three hours, they took my mobile number and said they would text me 30 mins to a space being available, I received a text a couple of hours later and they sorted a replacement phone.

I assumed this was now standard procedure but maybe it was being tested at the larger Apple stores.

I know that this has been standard in California and Texas since early this year.
