A few days back I got a call from a number claiming to be from Vodafone Dunstable trying to sell me broadband.
When I asked the store if it was them they told me they only have a mobile number.
Is the number genuine or should I tell them to jog on?

It is a genuine number but be aware that genuine numbers can still be spoofed (cloned). This happens to companies alot, even HMRC and ACtion Frauds number has been spoofed before.
Always if in doubt, I would advise calling the number back yourself as you would be connected to the genuine holder of the number then.
I looked up this number and it seems in this case its just vodafone telemarketing, they can be a bit pushy at times, but there a lot of scam callers that say they are vodafone so you were to check it out
