Liking the new layout

I've not seen this posted anywhere else yet, but I just want to say how much better the forum is now on mobile devices. The layout is so much better and (maybe the new car effect) how much quicker it seems to load on my phone.

One request as some members are struggling with the new layout. Can you default everyone to linear layout (as it was) rather than this difficult to master threaded layout? I think you'll find this threaded layout will prevent new posters wanting to post, along with responses getting lost in the spaghetti of threads.

To get the linear mode working properly you have to adjust the configuration in two places.

I've posted an image of the only place it actually needs changing. It's in "My Settings > Preferences > Display".

I did mess about with the other two settings but any effect I saw was placebo.

I also changed "My Settings > Preferences > Linear Layout".

Yeah. That's a hybrid thing - you'll see it's only effective when the linear mode is selected. Like fine tuning
