Recently received a new Pixel 8 (not from VF). Problems with WiFi calling. Searches on other forums suggested this was due to the handset not coping with "intelligent switching" between the 2.4Ghz and 5 GHz bands. Despite a two hour conversation with VF it turns out that intelligent switching cannot be turned off on the VF supplied hub (which has very limited management via the web interface and next to no management via the Vodafone Broadband app). All very frustrating but the answer was to configure one of my third party WiFi extenders so that it only talks to the VF router on 2.4 GHz and only transmits on 5 GHz. Give that dedicated 5Ghz signal a new SSSID and use that for phone over WiFi and Bob's your uncle.
Just in case anyone is having similar problems.

It's great you found a solution to the WiFi issue with your Pixel 8! The struggle with intelligent switching between 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands is definitely frustrating. It's a bit like finding a specialized solution in medical procedures, such as ethnic rhinoplasty in Turkey. Just as every phone's WiFi might need tailored settings to work optimally, ethnic rhinoplasty often requires a personalized approach to achieve natural and culturally harmonious results. Both require the right expertise to get the best outcome!
