Apples WWDC starts Today 8/6/15 and runs until 12/6/15

"Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. June 8-12, San Francisco.

Apple’s renowned developer community will come together at WWDC to learn about the future of iOS and OS X."

Their is an App on the App Store as long as your device is on iOS 8.3.

Exciting times for iDevice owners.

Hopefully we'll hear about iOS 9 and OS X information.

"This statistic contains data on the number of apps available for download in leading app stores as of May 2015. As of that month, Android users were able to choose between 1.5 million apps. Apple's App Store remained the second-largest app store with 1.4 million available apps."

...how many of these apps are actually worthwhile?

What is worthwhile to one person is not worthwhile to another.

But is the number of apps the important thing?

App store revenue exceeded Play Store revenue by a massive 70% in 2014 according to Business Insider. If I were a developer I know where I'd concentrate my efforts!

If making money from apps your only reason to code then, software development would be a horrible job to have.

It has been proven time and again that iOs users are easily releived of their cash. New hardware, new os, paid apps.

iOs is really no longer an operating system per say, its more of a content delivery platform.

Then you have the restrictive Apple licencing, Android is open source.....

I could go on and on, but Ill stop the thread HiJack.

Go forth and enjoy your devices ! iOs android Blackberry Windows and Symbian users rejoce !

Don't worry about "hijacking " the thread. I'm happy to encourage healthy discussion.

For those wondering what  Music App is here is a good round up from

I'm still working out how to reply to someone who doesn't do a job for money :Smiling:

Hi everyone,

Will any of you be tuning into Apples Beats 1 radio station, when it airs? :Smiling:

Hi @Gemma

I certainly will test it out - should be interesting.

It'll be interesting to see how Apple Music pans out and what effect it has on the market.

I'm also very interested in Apple Pay but very irritated that Barclays is not taking part. I've tweeted Barclays about this and emailed and spoken to my bank manager about it. I'm meeting her for a general catch up meeting next week and she knows that Apple Pay is on the agenda.

@jeffkinn

I’m quite excited for it. It does sound and looks interesting from what they’ve announced. :Smiling:

I can’t imagine not having Spotify on my phone. Do you use Spotify?

Good luck with your meeting. :Smiling:

Initial 'very early' reports elsewhere from owners using Beta iOS 9 looks promising.

I do use Spotify @Gemma but I think this'll be better.

Apple has the ability to make and move a market whether we like it or not from music to contactless payments.
