Broadband unavailable at my address but available next door

Hello,

looking to join VF broadband however the address checker says it’s not available at my address.

if I check my neighbours address it’s available.  It’s a terraced street, in a city so wouldn’t expect to not be available

I currently have sky broadband connected by Openreach, the same as would be for VF however cannot work out why cannot be supplied by VF.

any ideas or thoughts?

I have the same issue but here the weird thing I was with Vodafone at my address for 2 years, i then changed to sky and now My contracts up I want to go back to Vodafone there systems says I can’t have its unavailable at my property and nothing changes except I went with sky last year,

now I have been told the issue is when I went to sky I was switched to a digital landline (house phone plugged into the hub)  and my main line into the the wall was discounted ( confirmed by plugging my phone into the main phone socket I get a deadline tone) this was done automatically via sky,

its seems vodafone either can’t use digital lines or there system has blocked digital lines,

the only fix is to contact sky and tell them you want to go back to the non digital line so no phone calls via the hub and when that happens  then vodafone website say it’s available, maybe that why vodafone is cheaper they use older technology,

I know a few people who are with sky digital line and none of them can switch to Vodafone but the ones who kept the non digital line for whatever reason ( 2 people have older monitoring system that require there system plugged into the phone wall socket) can,

We're sorry to hear that the service is not yet available at your property. We're doing the roll-out as quickly as possible, we would recommend that you keep an eye on the broadband availability checker here🙂

It’s nothing to do with the rollout being available - every other property around mine can receive VF broadband, it’s a terraced street in the middle of a city

I can obtain broadband from any other supplier and have previously been able to check for a valid availability with Vodafone

the issue is with your checker but no one is willing or able to investigate an issue with that.

like the other poster stated it seems to be related to being a current sky customer and wanting to move to VF

I doubt it has any thing to do with your current provider. It's simply that Vodafone's systems are crap.

@dazzler85 Ditto. "Computer says no" is the extent of the feedback I'm getting.

@MarkD Openreach cannot find any limitation at my address, all the other providers that use their cables are able to connect me, just the VF checker does not recognize it. So it's most likely a software issue on VF's part NOT an hardware one. That or some strategic decision on VF's part to not take in Sky costumers that no one is being transparent about.

Exactly same here don't seem they care about sorting, I used to be able to get 76mb now all services withdrawn! If I select business it let's me still get 76mb, openreach have very clearly told me vodafone has the problem and they need to contact openreach but vodafone are refusing to help, openreach said its extremely unlikely every 1 of my neighbours is with vodafone and they should be able to get the space allocated at the exchange by using those lines as openreach have checked amd found vodafone clearly has the space it just seems they want to block some customers and with them playing like this we want to stop our mobile with them as its just not on or fair a clinically extremely vulnerable household being refused whilst every other house on our street same like you full mid terrace every single address except 1 out of 30 being mine is connected clearly a problem at vodafone I have autism dyspraxia fibromyalgia and likely MS too but vodafone refuse to help and its limiting my availability of services unfairly

Sorry to hear of your medical problems @Dammys1 , but if your line is with Openreach, Vodafone won't be the only supplier, so go with someone who does want you as a customer.

Bit of an old thread, but thought I'd post here rather than starting a new one.
My problem is the same, however I left Vodafone 3 months ago to move to Virgin because I needed more upload speeds because I host plex & other game servers for friends & family, plus I develop websites so I often upload big web packages online for testing. Anyways, long story short, Since the 2nd week of Virgin going active, so 10 weeks ish now I've had no broadband service in the form of a complete drop out of upload speed service, meaning no internet. They keep on saying they've fixed it, which lasts a few hours & I'm sick of their excuses. So I've told them to cancel my package & they tried to insist I have to pay an early leaving fee, I said no I don't because I'm no getting a service I'm paying for, so they agreed.

But, I go back to vodafone & they say I can't get broadband service at my address. I haven't got a new phone line with virgin or anything. I just cancelled vodafone & signed up to Virgins M500 package no phone. So I can't sign up or check what speeds I can get, because I received an email from city fibre saying full fibre is now available in my area.

So, what do I do?

@VsUK1981  Look around the other ISPs.

@VsUK1981

Were you previously on FTTC with Vodafone? It may be that they are not allowing any new FTTC connections if full fibre is available in your area.. (although it's more likely it's simply that their database is in error)

What is the Ofcom checker saying?

View broadband availability - Ofcom Checker

Ofcom checker says I can get Ultrafast 1000 mb download 50mb upload. But I have family just down the road to me in Sheffield who've upgraded theirs from normal fibre up to 70mbs to full fibre with their new routers & I'm just up the road in Rotherham. But my mum hasn't as she's old & doesn't need full fibre, but you can search her info & it shows up options available.
