Ethernet cable not working, but was working to pc and ps4 but wifi is ok?

Hi all.

I have had this ethernet cable that comes from the main downstairs vodaphone router, wired to connect upstairs to my pc or my ps4{consoles}.

For years there has been no issue and i do not think there is cable damage.

I had it literally working to my ps4 wired a few days ago but it just went off.

I have my pc connected via wifi antennas and i do this with my ps4 too but i never get full speeds via wifi so prefer cabled connection.

Is there some setting that is on my pc that could of done this?

I t sounds like the cable but as i said only last week it was fully working, sometimes it stays on for days/weeks/months and sometimes it stays off and i cannot for the life of me get it back working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there's no visible damage then the odds are that it's just a plug at one end or the other - it happens.  Replacement plugs are cheap, and you can even get tool-less versions
