FTTP availability

Hello,

Openreach notified me in December that I can now get FTTP at my premises. Originally only a couple of specialist ISPs would provide FTTP internet services to my address but now that has changed.

I've checked with a number of ISPs now including BT, EE and Sky who now will provide FTTP services to my property.

Anytime I use the GigaFast availability checker on the Vodafone website it redirects me to the superfast availability page instead and says I can only get 73.6mbps down and 18mbps up.

How long does is normally take for Vodafone to update the availability checker? I want to take advantage of the current 500mbps for the price of 200mbps sale that is due to expire in January.

Our postcode was FTTP enabled in March this year, but only BT, Sky and Zen are currently showing as available. Shame as this seems a great offer from Vodafone.

@Mark any help you can give to get the checker updated or any information on when our postcodes will appear would be great as 8 months wait is just crazy

Hey @flipside @CEB5000 - Mark isn't in today so I've just picked this up in the meantime - I've flagged this up and I'm waiting some information on how we can do this 🙂

@vodafoneuserFF - I'm sorry about this, I can see your conversation and as above I've flagged this up.

As soon as I have any more information on this, I'll update the thread.

Thank you, let me know if you need any details on postcode etc. I have supplied it via a DM to the VodafoneUK account this week but with data protection that may have gone

I just wanted to pop a quick update on the thread - we've spoken to the senior manager of the Activations team and they've taken a look into it further for us.

They've advised that whilst they can see Openreach have installed the infrastructure, there's still further work needed from our side before it's available for us to provide a FTTP package. This is why when you're checking your postcodes in the availability checker, it's showing as unavailable at the moment.

Unfortunately we don't have any further information on when it will become available for you - once it is, I'm being told it will be updated to show on the checker.

@amanda Thank you for the info but as voda already supply FTTC to me it would really help to understand what extra work is needed to enable this and what the average timeline from OpenReach activating it ( and listing Voda as a partner to sign up with) and release usually is.

8 months seems ample for a layman but i know telecoms can sometimes not be that simple.

Hi Amanda,

Thank you for the response. That's more information than I've had from other channels. Can you provide more detail on the hold up? Is it a contractual issue or just some updates required for the availability checker?

It has been almost a year since FTTP has been available for my location. I'm just a concerned that by the time it's resolved the current special offer will have expired.

Regards,

Unfortunately @vodafoneuserFF as Amanda advised, we currently have no further information on what work is needed to be done to get your area FTTP ready or when this work will be completed. Our Tech and Activations teams are working with Openreach to ensure we can provide full fibre to your area in near future and we will update the coverage checker when this service becomes available.

For more information on our full fibre Pro Broadband packages, please give our dedicated WiFi Xperts team a call on 191 from a Vodafone mobile or 0333 040 191 from any other UK phone (standard charges apply)

Surely someone in Voda has more info ?
