Pairing TAPO Smart Bulbs

Hi guys,

 

I've just bought a couple of TAPO Smart Bulbs and from what I can see these have to be connected at 2.4ghz not 5.

 

For the life of me I can't work out how to get these blinking (haa haa) smart bulbs to pair.

 

I've gone into the router settings and fiddled about but I can't make it work.

 

Can anyone help me?

You have to go into your smart phone WiFi settings and connect to the TAPO bulb's WiFi SSID.  You then run the TAPO smartphone app, and add the bulb from there.  You've just got to follow the quick start guide like a pedant!

Firstly are you on Pro?

If not split the Wi-Fi bands and make sure the device you are trying to configure them with is also connected on the 2.4Ghz.

If you follow this tutorial, at what point does it fail?

I inputted my wifi password wrong!

 

DOH!

 

It all works now! Thank you.
