Port Mapping/Forwarding

Hello

I am swiching to Vodafone broadband today.

Everything is so good except port mapping, I tried to setup configuration on port mapping, it seems that the system won't let me to apply the setting. Because every time when I applied the change, the system told me 'Your Changes have not been updated!'.

I will need remote access to my CCTV system via cell phone from outside.

Does anyone has any idea on that?

Thanks,

Bill

This may or may not be what you are trying to do, but one limitation to watch out for in the latest Vodafone router (THG3000) is that it does not support mapping multiple external ports to a single internal port on a single device. The older HHG2500 didn't have this limitation.

Yes, I got the Vodafone router version THG3000.

And I tried to map a pulic port to an internal port in Static Port Mapping, however I noticed that that public port has been used in Dynamic Port Mapping below. So as you said if the lastest router version has such limitation, it could happen.

Finally I got this Port Mapping issue resolved.

This is how:

1. Please under Expert Mode and got to Settings/Configuration/ and turn off the UPnP service firstly and apply.

2. Then go to Internet Port Mapping/Static Port Mapping and do what ever ports you want to map

It should works.

Please make sure don't trying to mapping the single public port to multiple local ports.

I am due to be activated for Broadband on 20 Jan, have received my Wi-Fi Hub (aka THG3000 router?) already, and am setting it up in advance. I've been able to set up port forwarding OK (tho' what @Alex882 says appears to be true; it's pathetic, isn't it!). The only thing I can think of, is that maybe you haven't changed the admin password, it won't allow  you to set port forwarding until you do?

I have changed the admin password.

Would you mind to confirm if you successfully setup a Static Port Mapping yet? and How?

That is under Expert Mode, enter into Internet/Port Mapping/Static Port Mapping, click + to fill out a few paremeters, then apply it.. The system will say The Changes have been updated, so the mapping you did should apprear.

I was just having the same issue with a 'Your changes have not been updated' message after clicking apply.

Turns out in the 'Service' text field I used an underscore character in the name, it seems you can only use alphanumeric characters and a hyphen.  Didn't try every character so there may be others that will work!

I am having the same issue as well trying to apply port forwarding rules.

I was trying to set up two port forwarding rules for use with Home Assistant.

These posts explain why I get the "Your changes have not been updated" when I try to set up a secondary public address to the same local IP.

It looks like I will have to try again to set up my ASUS rt686u setup in place of this piece of crap router to get round this issue.
