Returning old Vodafone equipment?

Hi,

I recently upgraded from 500mb to 900mb, and got a new router (Ultra Hub II). One of the emails I received told me I had to return the old equipment. However, the email is confusing as it says:

However, the "click here" link that should allow me to print a label takes me to a generic "How to recycle your old router" page (https://www.vodafone.co.uk/broadband/tips-and-guides/what-to-do-with-old-router) which mentions nothing about printing a label to send anything back.

Any help welcome.

P.S. The broadband back-up dongle has never actually worked despite numerous short-term drop outs over the past two years.

Same here, out of the blue request to return the dongle after the broadband activation date, but I already got rid of it! Vodafone Tobi insists I have to return it or  be charged £40!  No advanced warning on this.  And, as noted above, the email link doesnt even create a return label.   I have no words....

Hi, thanks very much for posting this question. I am having exactly the same issue with Vodafone and have been told I can only return the router etc to the nearest vodafone store which is an hour away in town as I live in the countryside. I am on the phone with someone from Vodafone customer services but he is not getting any help at his end - I am worried I am going to be charged if I just recycle it which is the only real option being given to me and certainly it is not a recycle for free option which another responder said was the requirement under the T&Cs - did you get anywhere with this?

I too was getting nowhere with customer services, they doggedly keep repeating whats written on the script 'you will be charged  .. blah blah' So I ask to escalate this to a manager, same circles were navigated several times, they are totally unaware that the web link doesn't lead to a return lable which says take to recycling.  So escalate again, now very exasperated, another manages says they will reduce the charge to £20 as a gesture of good will.  Outrageous!  Demanded they look at athe web link which I send them...  Their system goes down!!!  After more than an hour of argument they finally agreeed to waive the charge, but said it still may show on the bill, if it does, get back.  I copied all the chat, expecting another round, but nothing showed on the bill...

I have no words...  dreadful.

@leoniegordon

Have you been with Vodafone for more than 14 days?

Can you show us just what communication you have had requesting the return, as the OP did, (obscuring any personal info)

If it's just the 4g dongle they want back, that should be easy enough to just post.
