Timer to switch off router

Is there a way I can programme  the router to switch itself off between 11pm and 8am? To help with reinforcing sensible bedtimes? Is it necessary to have an external timer to do this? And if so are there any that are better than others?

@EdsMum I think you will have to do it manually. If I remember correctly you may be able to shut down the WiFi to schedule, but if you want to disable the ethernet you'll have to turn it off manually.

However turning if off entirely will confuse the broadband and you will have problems with speed

An ethernet connection can be controlled with a switch on a plug-in timer.

@Ripshod That's true, but I never really like turning off electronics all the time because I feel it shortens their life.
