Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub

I'm back again with another annoying question.

Is there a flaw in the Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub wireless connections firmware?
2.4g saying minimum rate is 288mbps
5g is saying minimum rate is 54mbps
That is a back to front in my book. 5g should have the highest minimum rate not 2.4g

Use the alternative by all means but remember that they will not look into any issues until you put the THG3000 back.

I've left VF and now use a ZyXel with my new ISP. The speed is better and there have be zero errors/drops but with the THG3000 there were errors/drops all the time.

Boxed up and stored for that very purpose otherwise the THG3000 would have been (responsibly) disposed of yonks ago 😁

I've noticed lots of errors in the line but the only time there is a break in the connection is when vodafone is changing something on their end.
I've only been with vodafone 17 days of a 24 month contract. In live chat they said don't worry about the speed it will pick up. But it's taking it's sweet time. The connection is meant to be able to allow 2 devices to stream HD quality at the same time. But it's currently struggling to allow 1 device works great lowering quality to 360p. 🙈

That really is rubbish, as long as there is no line fault it will be pretty much full speed right from the start on VDSL.

If you are happy with the ZyXEL why not just use that and not the THG3000? Which model is it?

They said they would be optimizing the line for 10days but even yesterday there was a change in settings.
That's only reason why I'm still on all their own stuff that they supplied.
Once they finish tweaking, I will be putting my own cat6 RJ11 DSL 4pin back in even though it only uses 2pins LOL.
The only time ISP doesn't work on the line is when using Ethernet to WAN Fibre connection as it's instant speeds set by the modem. DSL connection for VDSL2 is always optimized over a period of time.

If DLM is still "adjusting" your line after 17 days there is something wrong.

Still bad line condition and after the cooling off period? I do hope it gets sorted out quickly because the thought of two years of this is dreadful.

I had very similar when I joined Vodafone, and it took 3 months and 2 Openreach visits to resolve.

And yes I was given the same cobblers about "it takes time to stabilise".

Edit: As I was new to VDSL/FTTC I believed what Vodafone were telling me, I will never make that mistake again!

Now you can understand why I want best & cheapest ISP I can find as lines around here are older than me. Like vodafone is charging me £22 a month for superfast2 and BT want me to pay £45 a month for the same speeds.
If vodafone has no change in the speeds after 2years. Then once contract is up I try another ISP that's going cheap and see what they can do. 😁

There is no problem with Vodafone broadband per se, it's just the support that is abysmal, once you get it sorted it is fine. (until the next problem). I'm now coming up to my first anniversary, just got to hang on for another year.
