Port forward doesn't seem to work on the new Ultra hub or the ISP are blocking the ports.
I tried forwarding a basic port like 25565 for my son's Minecraft server and using Port checker found is was blocked.
Tested it with external connection and it didn't work.
So I then checked the port for Plex and found it was open, even thou I hadn't placed it into the port forward of the router.
Tested Plex with external connection and it worked.
So i thought just to keep my son and his friends happy I switched off the firewall on the Ultra hub, so all the ports are open for a couple of hours and his friends could connect to his server.
Still didn't work & we also tested ports for Steam, Minecraft & even my own web server are showing as blocked.
These all previously worked OK when I was previously using Virgin Internet and router.
Its like Vodafone themselves are blocking the Ports, as I have switched off the firewall and rebooted the Router and left it like this for the past couple of hours. So does the ISP (Vodafone) block the ports? or do I have a faulty Ultra hub.
But having the firewall switched off is risky, but may confirm my suspicion that its the ISP controlling the ports and not the ultra hub. Thought I would post this to confirm if they are blocking ports instead of wasting many man hours running around in circles on the forums and support calls with Vodafone changing settings rebooting things. Especially as the firewall is off & I would expect the ports to be showing as open and available for us to play games on the server.
