Vodafone router does not recognise NAS drive

I've just moved to Vodafone from Virgin Media. I have a Buffalo LS210 NAS drive to store files, which was working perfectly with my VM router. However, the Vodafone router does not appear to "see" it at all - it's not listed under "Network" in the overview or in the NAT mapping table. I've tried doing a hardware reset on the NAS, which made no difference. When it's plugged in the NAS Navigator tool that came with it can see the drive but says connection error.  Can anyone advise what I can try please?

I've also tried plugging a USB stick into the router. This is recognised by the router, and I've enabled sharing, but my PC (and 2 others I've tried) can't connect to it. I've tried replacing vodafone.ultrahub with 192.168.1.1 and turning on SMB v1.

Router is Vodafone Ultra Hub, firmware version: 22.1.0515-6261048

Grateful for any suggestions.

Rob

@RobShawUK Give the NAS a static address. If you must have SMB1 you have to enable it on Windows, but you should not need it and it's got weak security.

Thanks. Re the static address, can you advise how I give the NAS a static address if I can't connect/see it? The default for is it 192.168.0.25. Do I do that in the router Gateway? And agree about SMB1 - only enabled it to check if that was causing the problem.

@RobShawUK Make sure that the address which you pick is outside of the router DHCP range and connect an ethernet cable directly from the PC to the NAS. If the NAS also provides DHCP (some do) then decide whether it's the NAS or router that should be doing it.
