Hi, I'm currently paying £37 for 250mbps witj TalkTalk. I recently saw that cityfibre has finished installing full fibre in MK and now offers up to 1Gbps with Vodafone only for only £3 a month more than I'm paying now. And according to openreach's website, they could take up to a couple years to install their full fibre.
So, I was wondering, for those that are using/have used Vodafone as an isp, would you recommend it?

@mozork1 Have a search round in the forum because you are not the first person to ask. Also do remember that most people visit here to get help with a problem so anything you find is more likely to be negative. You may get a more balanced review on independent web sites.

I'm hearing more and more of people paying a lot for 1Gbps FTTP speeds they simply don't need.
Whilst I 100% agree that everyone who can get FTTP should be on it, the technology is so much more stable than copper, the majority of people don't need speeds of more than the basic 100Mbps packages (currently £22 a month) let alone 1Gbps.
100Mbps is enough for around 5x simultaneous UHD/4K YouTube video streams.
Obviously, I don't know your personal situation @mozork1, you may well need the extra speeds for what you're doing but for most saving money by moving to a 'slower' speed would be more advantageous.

I think you are right @Nabs , it's just the "more is better" syndrome when you are choosing. (and bragging rights)
When I finally get FTTP available, I will have a hard problem convincing myself I don't really need "just a little higher" when choosing which tier to go for.
