WPS doesn't work

Downloaded the vodafone broadband app to my mobile phone, then press WPS button on router to pair....nothing happens !   phone is Nokia G20

When pairing with the app, I find a quick stab on the button works better than an actual press.

Strangely it seems to work even when WPS is disabled in the router.
