Hi just been upgraded to full fiber via openreach and vodafone has enabled ipv6 on my connection i am using my own router to connect but am struggling to put the settings in for ipv6 and vodafone isnt helpful i have read they have implimented dual stack ipv6 and my router is a tp link archer axe75.

i have checked with the vodafone router and it is getting a ipv6 address but when i connect via the tp link with the wan connected to the ont so what setting i try to use i git no joy?

@Ian442001 VF do not provide a IP6 service. Go to the settings in the router and turn off all the IP6 settings.

As far as I know Vodafone are not using IPv6 yet. Do you have a link to where you read they are?

There is certainly no IPv6 address on my THG3000.

@Ripshod fair enough, but that reference says only 2,000 customers and for a limited trial. I'd hold my breath and wait for it to be on general release and bug free.

That trial is over:

“We started a limited trial for the dual-stack connectivity for around two thousand customers between July and October, which is reflected on the ASN. “

I attended the Vodafone briefing day for my local area hosted by openreach - the engineers are ready for "advanced installs". It's happening, only the long-time loyal customers get left out in the cold til the end - as usual.

I think it's still early on in the roll out,

If you're looking at the number of prefixes, each prefix can provide 65536 client connections.

@Ripshod  That ok, VF have 10^13 (if I remember correctly) IP6 address to play with. The thing is that they have only used a few thousand so far.

"i have checked with the vodafone router and it is getting a ipv6 address"

If it starts "fe80" then it's just a IPv6 LAN (link-local) address, not Internet.
